Our volunteer carries Olympic torch

28 June 2012

Billy Osbourne, a volunteer with Lincolnshire County Councils Positive Futures programme was chosen to carry the Olympic torch as part of its journey through Lincolnshire on 27 June 2012.

Over the last three years, Billy has given many hours volunteering for the project and he has also contributed some great project ideas.

Jake Marshall, Positive Futures Community Sports Worker, says:

‘I nominated Billy for this fantastic and once in a lifetime opportunity because I believe he is an asset to his local community through the volunteering, approach and great attitude he has towards it. He is always looking to keep the local young people busy and doing something more positive and often comes up with great ideas to support this. This attitude fits perfectly with the ethos of Positive Futures and we believe this Future Flame will go far!’
