Our approach

We provide young people with tailored counselling support, working also alongside clinicians and our Youth Violence Intervention Programme team. We work largely with children and young people experiencing PTSD or CPTSD, as well as neurodivergent young people.

Young people often mention that they can find traditional mental health services inaccessible and/or re-traumatising, with eligibility thresholds also being too high. Our counselling service is there to provide vital support.

The service operates as a trauma informed, relational model of therapy informed, using a strengths-based approach. We build relationships and offer outreach in terms of reducing barriers to attendance, letting young people’s choices guide the support they receive.
