The first research paper in the Nominet and Catch22 Insights Series focused on the context of digital skills for disadvantaged young people and identified four types of barriers to digital opportunity: digital access, digital skills for work, core capabilities, and digital lived experience.
This second paper delves deeper into which marginalised groups are being most impacted by the four identified barriers and are therefore being further left behind by the digital revolution. Through conducting a series of focus groups across Catch22 services, the research forefronts the voices and experiences of young people through the lens of digital disadvantage.
At this event, Charlotte Turner and Mark Newby from Bean Research, presented a short overview of findings of the second paper and talked to Catch22 staff who contributed to the research.
