As the end of the year is approaching and January draws near, we’re looking back at some of the successes from Catch22’s staff and volunteers over the last year.
Day 1: Ripplez provides early-intervention home visiting and social inclusion services for women. Community Links supports the borough of Newham with emotional wellbeing services, employability and family support. Code4000 deliver computer programming training, or coding, in UK prisons.
Day 2: Our podcast Catch22Minutes explores some of today’s major social challenges. The first season focuses on youth employment, looking at how society can prepare young people to enter the job market and improve opportunities available to them.
Day 3: Our Justice team work with young people and adults providing intervention and rehabilitation services in prison and in the community, delivering offender management, rehabilitation and gangs work.
Day 4: Catch22 colleges support learners with programmes that are designed and tailored to match their interests and goals for the future. We offer three key elements: functional literacy and numeracy skills, vocational qualifications and work experience.
Day 5: Our Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire CSE and Missing Service support children and young people at risk of criminal exploitation, those involved in gang activity and/or county lines.
Day 6: The Austen Academy is a Special Educational Needs school for learners from Year 1 to Year 11 whose needs cannot be met within a mainstream environment.
Day 7: Our Catch22 staff are involved in a range of apprenticeships including Level 3 Business Administrator, Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner, Level 5 Operations Departmental Manager and more.
Day 8: The Catch22 Personal Wellbeing Contracts are delivered across London, West Mercia, Avon and Somerset, Dorset, Thames Valley, Hampshire and Isle of Wight, Devon and Cornwall, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.
Day 9: Our employability programmes equip hard to reach individuals with the support they need for a path to sustainable employment.
Day 10: There are 1.5 million UK households without internet access and 22% of the population lack basic digital skills. Our manifesto to tackle digital exclusion is based on a three pillared strategy – data, devices and digital skills.
Day 11: Catch22 provides alternative and special education to young people aged 4 to 18 who face a range of complex barriers to education, including those who are excluded or at risk of exclusion and those with social, emotional and mental health needs or special educational needs.
Day 12: Our ‘Online Harms Experienced by Children and Young People – Acceptable Use and Regulation’ research explores the experiences, voices and opinions of children and young people online.
Day 13: Our Hertfordshire Beacon service help victims of crime to cope and recover. Our team support victims to do so with victim centred and restorative approaches.
Day 14: National Citizen Service (NCS) is a youth programme that runs every summer and autumn, during school holidays. The experience allows for new skills, passion projects and supporting local communities.
Day 15: Catch22 is an approved levy apprenticeship provider. We deliver apprenticeship programmes from Level 2 to Level 5 including business administration, customer service, team leading and more.
Day 16: Community Links provide and support to those facing deprivation and inequality in Newham. Their services include emergency food support services, COVID-19 helpline and more.
Day 17: Our Staff Awards ceremony recognised those who have gone above and beyond at Catch22. Our patron HRH The Princess Royal opened the awards ceremony, praising the perseverance of staff during the global pandemic.
Day 18: The 5–step Risk and Resilience model is used for both child exploitation and missing children. When these services are commissioned together, they have far greater impact on supporting young people at risk of exploitation.
Day 19: The “Keep Doing Good” initiative was set up by NCS to encourage young people to help communities affected by the pandemic. Our young people have raised £66,900 through volunteering and social action projects.
Day 20: Our vision for a strong society is built upon the 3 Ps: People, Place and Purpose. We believe everyone needs a good place to live, a purpose and good people around them to thrive.
Day 21: At Catch22 we have 4 values which reflect the work we do and are chosen by our staff. They are:

Day 22: We wouldn’t be able to celebrate the successes of the past year without the staff and volunteers of Catch22 who work tirelessly to support those who use their services.
Day 23: Catch22 started in 1788 with the formation of The Philanthropic Society. To address the issue of homelessness, the society opened homes where children in need were trained by skilled tradesmen.
Day 24: This year, across our services, Catch22 has touched and impacted the lives of many people and communities up and down the country.
